3 Months

So I am a little bit behind on the blogging. Now that Brinley is almost 4 months in a couple of days, I figured it was about time that I post about her 3rd month!

Brinley is growing bigger and bigger every single day. I also think she is the smartest baby in the whole world! Haha She is learning new things every single day and I am loving it. I love watching her discover new things, learn, and grow. I also love watching her personality come out more and more. Being a mom is probably the best thing in the entire world! I love every single second of it.

Here are a few of the things Brinley is now doing...

  • She has started to roll over! The second I lay her on her back she already starts rolling over. She loves being on her stomach.
  • She holds her head up so well now!
  • She is very curious. Her head is constantly moving and looking at new things. Her head moves a million miles an hour, especially at Walmart. She loves looking at the lights and everything else at that store.
  • She also started playing in her saucer. She only plays with a few of the toys on it at the moment, and she won't stay in it very long. But she is getting used to it more and more.
  • She has started playing with toys and grabbing at EVERYTHING!
  • She jabbers constantly. She loves to hear herself. She wakes up jabbering, which I love because she is so happy.
  • She also loves being outside! With the fall weather it was perfect to take her outside and let her enjoy it before the cold winter month came.
I love being her mom and think it is the best thing ever. I also had to go back to work this past month. The first day back was so hard. I had not been away from her since the day she was born. I cried when I had to leave but she did awesome. Being back at work is getting better, but she is constantly on my mind. I am just so grateful for our families who are so willing to watch her and take care of her while Trevor and I are at work and school.

Well here are a few pictures from the past month. (Sorry pictures overload...)

This is when she learned to start holding her up when we would lay her on her stomach.

She also started sucking on her fingers. It is still something she won't stop doing. She loves those fingers of hers.

She loves taking naps with daddy and mommy. But she especially loves them with daddy since he was so busy with school and work. She loves spending time with him.

She also got to celebrate her 1st Halloween. She hated that big flower on her head, but I think she looked so cute!

Helping daddy rake the leaves outside. Like I said, she loves being outside.

Uncle TJ came over to the house and was playing with her. Once she fell asleep he put his glasses on her.

Brinley playing in her saucer for the first time...

She got so tired playing she ended up falling asleep in it.

This is how she would lay a couple of days before she started rolling over.

She learned how to grab onto her bows and pulls them over her eyes so she can't see. She hasn't figured out yet how to get it off of her eyes.

I love this little girl so so much! This smile of hers just completely melts my heart! I LOVE IT!

Brinley had a fun month and as you can tell learned so much. I also think this is the month where she was grown the most. She changed so month this month! I don't have an infant anymore but she is so much fun to play to with. I am loving this stage!!

2 Months

On October 21 my sweet little girl turned 2 months old! I can't believe that she is already 2 months old. Where has the time gone?? Time is flying by way too fast and she is growing up way too fast!! However, I love the cute little personality that she is getting. She is starting to play with me and Trevor, and smiles every time she sees us! We sure are loving it!!

She also went to the doctor for her 2 month check up and to get her shots. I was so nervous taking her to get her shots because I didn't know how she would react or how I would react! Haha But she surprisingly did better than I thought she was going to. She screamed when they poked her with the needles, but once I was able to pick her back up she stopped crying and didn't cry again. We also received her 2 month stats...

          Weight: 10lbs 9oz
          Height: 22 inches

She is growing bigger and bigger every single day. She is also learning new things every single day. Some of the things she has been doing this last month...

  • Holds her head up all by herself
  • When laying on her stomach she will hold herself up on her hands
  • Is constantly jabbering and talking, especially when daddy gets home from work or school
  • Still loves the bath, and would stay in it all day if mommy would let her
  • Gets the biggest smile on her face when she sees mommy and daddy
  • Sleeps about 8 hours a night (goes to bed about 11pm and wakes up around 7am or 8am
Here are a few pictures from this last month...

We had Brinley's blessing! It was such a special day for our family. She also looked adorable in her dress!

I love the way he looks at her! He loves her so much and you can see it on his face! I love these two more than anything in this world!

Trevor and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary on Oct. 8 and we took Brinley along with us to celebrate. We stayed in Park City for the night, and went shopping at the outlets. So Brinley had her first vacation and did awesome being away from home. Two weeks later we also went to St. George with Trevor's family. We forget to take pictures while we were there... But she slept the entire drive down there and then again on our way back home. She did awesome on the long drive in the car.

She won't sit in her chair anymore... She wiggles until her feet are underneath her and then will stand up on them. She is so dang cute!!

We have loved getting to know this cute little girl. She has been such a blessing in our lives and in our little family! We love watching her grow and learn new things every day. Can't wait to continue to watch her grow this next month!!

Brinley Blessing Day

On September 30 we were able to bless Brinley. It was such a wonderful day! I am so grateful that both of our families were able to attend this very special day for Brinley. She look absolutely GORGEOUS in her dress. Her grandam, Trevor's mom, actually bought her dress. I know that dress will come to mean a lot to Brinley!

Here are a few pictures from her blessing day...

Brinley with all of her grandparents...

Trevor's Parents, Kristen & Steve

My mom and step-dad, Christine & Cordell

My dad and step-mom, Dana & Todd

Trevor did such an awesome job on her blessing. He gave her such a sweet blessing that I hope she will always keep with her. If she is blessed with everything he blessed her with, then she will have an amazing life filled with a lot of happiness.

We both love this little girl and are so grateful for her. She has been such a blessing in our lives and we know that she will continue to be forever!

Newborn Pictures

I am so lucky to have people in my family take such amazing pictures!! It for sure has been a blessing in my life. My stepmom, Dana, actually took all of Brinley's newborn pictures and I LOVED how they turned out. We took these pictures when she was about 2 weeks old. I think they are so cute. I also thing she is so cute. She actually did really well with her newborn pictures and cooperated quite well, once we got her fed! Haha

Here are just a few of her pictures that were taken:

I am so glad that we have these pictures to be able to keep forever of her as a brand new baby! I can't believe how big she is already getting, in just 2 short months. She is one beautiful little girl and I am loving being her mom and watching her grow!

One Month

I can hardly believe that my little girl is already 1 month old!! Time is flying by so so fast and I just want it to slow down. She is also getting so big, which makes me so sad. However, she is getting such a cute and fun little personality! I love being a mom and getting to see how she is changing and learning new things every single day!

This past month has brought both me and Trevor alot of joy and happiness. We love Brinley more than anything in those whole world. We love experiencing all of her first's with her and watching her grow and get more of a personality every single day.

This was Brinley's 1st Bath! Daddy gave it to her, with the assistance of mommy!

1st time going on a walk with mommy and daddy! We all needed some time out of the house.

Man I love this little girl, and this adorable smile of hers! This was her first smile at mom! I was so excited to be able to capture it. I love being her mom!

1st time at church! Daddy picked this cute dress out for her

She loves laying on the floor! She loves to kick her feet and look at everything around her. When she is laying on the floor her head and eyes are constantly moving around.

1st time going out with just mommy

Brinley with Grandpa Southick and Cousin Paityn. Trevor's brother Josh and wife Kailey also welcomed a little girl into their family just 10 short days after us. It was so fun to be pregnant with my sister in law! We love that our little girls are so close in age and know that they will be the best of friends!

Daddy loves giving Brinley baths! He also loves playing with her in tub and giving her bubble hair!

Daddy changing Brinley's diaper. He is such a good dad and is so cute with her. He is so helpful and does so much for the both of us! I love how is face lights up when he sees her after coming home from work or school. She also very much loves her daddy and loves playing with him!

This past month has just flown by and I know that time is not going to slow down. We have had alot of fun with her this past month and can't wait to see what this next month will bring for our little family!! If only time would just slow down, even a little bit.

Brinley Southwick

WOW!!! Where did the summer go?? Being 8 months pregnant during the summer sure made it seem long... however, looking back on the summer it seems to have gone in the blink of an eye.

Trevor and I welcomed to our family Brinley Southwick on August 21. Bringing her into the world was one of the greatest experiences of our lives. We have loved having her here with us, and cannot believe that she has been with us for 2 weeks already! The time sure is flying by very quickly, and I want it to slow down! I wanted to document her birth story before I forget it. This is one very very long post, so please feel free to skip it! But I had to document every second of this awesome experience.

On Monday, August 20 around 3am I woke up to some very very strong contractions. I had been having Braxten Hicks for awhile now and I knew that these contractions were very different. They just felt a lot different than the Braxten Hicks I had been having. I woke up Trevor to inform him that I was having contractions and he immediately began timing them for me (he was so cute and sweet through all of this!). My contractions were about 10 min apart, but never stopped from when they started at 3am. Trevor kept asking me if I wanted to go to the hospital, but I knew they weren't close enough together yet. Also, I had just recently gotten a new job and was starting that in the morning. I didn't want to miss my first day at my new job. Well morning finally came, with ZERO sleep for the both of us and I was off to my new job.

During the entire day, Monday, at work I was constantly having contractions and they were only getting closer together. However, I wanted to make it the entire day at work. I was timing my contractions the entire time I was at work and they were slowly getting closer together. At around 6:30pm my contractions were about 5 min apart and hurting me very bad. Sadly I was not able to last the entire day at work, however; I made it with only 30 min left. I left work and quickly called Trevor to tell him it was time to head up to the hospital. He left work and we met at home to grab a few things and then head up to the hospital.

We arrived at the hospital at around 7:30pm. They monitored me for about 20 min, asked me tons of questions, told me I was dialated to a 1 1/2, and then sent me back home. They stated I was not in active labor, I was in pre-labor and that this could go on for a couple more days before I reached active labor. I was super sad, mad, and really upset because they were sending me home.

Once we were back at home the contractions did not stop. They only continued to get worse and I knew I was in for a long night because I could not sleep through these contractions. While at home my contractions became so intense that I was having a difficult time breathing and my body was beginning to shake uncontrollably because of the pain. I could see on Trevor's face that it was killing him to see me in so much pain, and he tried to convince me multiple times that it was time to head back up to the hospital. I did not want to go back up to the hospital though because I was just there and I didn't want to be sent home again. At around 3:30am and after no sleep for now 24 hours, we decided it was time to head back up to the hospital. I was very hesitant and nervous about this but my contractions were now 2 min apart and I knew I needed to head back up. Once we arrived at the hospital I explained to them that I was there earlier and had been sent home, but I really thought I was in labor. The nurses at the hospital all looked at me very hesitantly but decided to at least humor me. They again monitored me, and asked me all the exact same questions again. They then checked me and I was dialated now to a 5!!! I don't think I could had been told any greater news than that at that moment! I was not going to be sent home and we were finally having this wonderful, precious baby!

Right after being admitted. Please excuse the way we look in this picture. We had been awake for over 24 hours straight!

After being admitted into the hospital I received my epidural. What a great thing those are!! Right after receiving my epidural I immediately felt so much better. Trevor also felt better and was a lot more relaxed because his wife finally was relaxed and no longer in pain. Trevor was so cute, sweet, and awesome through this entire process. I am so glad that he was there for me through it all and was trying everything he could to help me out. After a few hours of waiting around and only 30 min of pushing, we welcomed Brinley Southwick into our family at 11:00am exactly! She weighted 6lbs. 11 oz. and couldn't be more beautiful!

Minutes after she was born

We were in the hospital for 2 days and loved that a lot of our family was able to come up and see us during the exciting time in our life. We feel so blessed to be able to have this little girl and love her more than anything! It was such a wonderful, special, and sweet experience to welcome this little girl and I am so happy that I was able to experience it with Trevor. It is something we will both remember for the rest of our lives!

One very very VERY proud Daddy! I love these two so so much!

Bringing our sweet girl home!

Latest Baby Update

Well it is time for another baby update. I am currently about 32 weeks along right now. It is crazy to me to think that it is getting so close for this little girl of ours to get here. However, I couldn't be more excited and more ready for her to get here. Although I have enjoyed being pregnant and being able to feel every move this child makes, I am more than ready to meet her, see her little face, hold her, and kiss her big chubby cheeks. (Yes she does have some chubby cheeks. On our last 4-D ultrasound Trevor just laughed and laughed at how big they were. I was born with really chubby cheeks, so I think she gets that from her mommy!)

Although pregnancy has been wonderful I am starting to become more and more uncomfortable as time goes on. And it is also really really hot all of the time! Haha I think its a blessing that I work inside, so I don't have to suffer through alot of the heat. A few things that are becoming more uncomfortable is my feet and my left hip. My feet start to hurt and get alot more tired than I remember ever getting before. Trevor tells me that I can't complain about my feet hurting all the time until I stop wearing heels to work and when we are out around the town together. I just tell him though that I have no other shoes to wear to work and such and so I have to. Haha Also, my hip has been starting to hurt alot! This is not something I am used to at all, however my doctor told me that it is something he is not concerned about because it can happen as I get closer and closer to her getting here.

Brinley is growing very big and is developing perfectly the doctor says. I am now going to the doctor every 2 weeks, and know that my weekly appointments will be here before I know it. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and we were able to see her again! I love it when I go to the doctor and get to see her cute little face and hear how much she has grown. At our last appointment she weighed 4 pounds. She gained 1 whole pound is just 2 short weeks. However, this explained why my stomach seems to be growing so big so quickly!

In this picture I am around 29 weeks

These are the most recent pictures of me. These were taken on Sunday.
I am around 32 weeks

This is my cute Hubby! He wanted his picture taken too!
Her room is also coming along very nicely as well. There are still a few things that I am needing to get done to have it completely ready for when she comes. It has been so fun getting her room ready and put together for her. I still need to take some more recent pictures of her room. The ones I currently have are about a month old and do not have alot of the finished things in them.

Like I said these pictures are pretty old, and do not resemble what her room looks like at the moment. So I will have to get some more updated pictures posted but this shows a little bit of a preview of how it looks. Well we have just under 2 months until she will be here and it cannot come fast enough. Trevor and I are both really ready for her to be here and to meet her. We know that our lives are going to change drastically once she gets here, but we couldn't be more excited for the new adventures that lay ahead of us! We already love this little girl so much and Aug 28 cannot come fast enough!
