3 Months

So I am a little bit behind on the blogging. Now that Brinley is almost 4 months in a couple of days, I figured it was about time that I post about her 3rd month!

Brinley is growing bigger and bigger every single day. I also think she is the smartest baby in the whole world! Haha She is learning new things every single day and I am loving it. I love watching her discover new things, learn, and grow. I also love watching her personality come out more and more. Being a mom is probably the best thing in the entire world! I love every single second of it.

Here are a few of the things Brinley is now doing...

  • She has started to roll over! The second I lay her on her back she already starts rolling over. She loves being on her stomach.
  • She holds her head up so well now!
  • She is very curious. Her head is constantly moving and looking at new things. Her head moves a million miles an hour, especially at Walmart. She loves looking at the lights and everything else at that store.
  • She also started playing in her saucer. She only plays with a few of the toys on it at the moment, and she won't stay in it very long. But she is getting used to it more and more.
  • She has started playing with toys and grabbing at EVERYTHING!
  • She jabbers constantly. She loves to hear herself. She wakes up jabbering, which I love because she is so happy.
  • She also loves being outside! With the fall weather it was perfect to take her outside and let her enjoy it before the cold winter month came.
I love being her mom and think it is the best thing ever. I also had to go back to work this past month. The first day back was so hard. I had not been away from her since the day she was born. I cried when I had to leave but she did awesome. Being back at work is getting better, but she is constantly on my mind. I am just so grateful for our families who are so willing to watch her and take care of her while Trevor and I are at work and school.

Well here are a few pictures from the past month. (Sorry pictures overload...)

This is when she learned to start holding her up when we would lay her on her stomach.

She also started sucking on her fingers. It is still something she won't stop doing. She loves those fingers of hers.

She loves taking naps with daddy and mommy. But she especially loves them with daddy since he was so busy with school and work. She loves spending time with him.

She also got to celebrate her 1st Halloween. She hated that big flower on her head, but I think she looked so cute!

Helping daddy rake the leaves outside. Like I said, she loves being outside.

Uncle TJ came over to the house and was playing with her. Once she fell asleep he put his glasses on her.

Brinley playing in her saucer for the first time...

She got so tired playing she ended up falling asleep in it.

This is how she would lay a couple of days before she started rolling over.

She learned how to grab onto her bows and pulls them over her eyes so she can't see. She hasn't figured out yet how to get it off of her eyes.

I love this little girl so so much! This smile of hers just completely melts my heart! I LOVE IT!

Brinley had a fun month and as you can tell learned so much. I also think this is the month where she was grown the most. She changed so month this month! I don't have an infant anymore but she is so much fun to play to with. I am loving this stage!!

Mothers Day

So I know I am about a month behind, but I am trying to get all caught up on my blogging!

Mothers Day was a great day for us! It was so exciting realizing that I will be a mother soon, and will have a child of my own to raise. I cannot wait for this little girl of our to arrive, but I am trying to be as patient as I can!

On Mothers Day we were able to Skype with my little brother who is currently serving a mission. Me and my little brother are very close and so I was super excited to be able to see him and talk with him. I was also very happy that we were going to actually get to see each other instead of just talking on the phone because it allowed him to be able to see my big pregnant belly! I love that decision that my brother has made to serve the Lord, and the people of Scotland and Ireland. However, with me being pregnant and us being so close to each other it has been a little difficult. There have been many times I have wished he was here at home with the family to be able to experience this with all of us. But its nice to be able to give him updates every week and I know that he is where he needs to be right now.

My family gathered around talking to Elder Jones

Elder Jones! He hasn't changed one single bit. (Sorry he was in the middle of a thought when I took this picture).
We were able to talk to my brother early in the morning and so the rest of the day was spent with family. It was nice to be able to see everyone and enjoy being with everyone! Holidays always seem to be really busy for me and Trevor trying to make it to see everyone. However, we were able to spend time with both my mom and Trevors mom. Which we loved being able to do and was exactly what we wanted! All in all it was a great Mothers Day!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day was such a blast for the both of us!! We loved every single second of it. We were both really spoiled by our family and we were especially spoiled by each other. I love being able to spend these types of moments with Trevor. This Christmas was one we will never forget! This Christmas brought alot of suprises for us, suprises we could not be happier about.

My husband is the cutest man ever! I think he is so fun, exciting, and the best of all, unpredictable! He is my most favorite person ever! Trevor was so excited for Christmas this year, and having to wait all month long for Christmas day to come was just killing my poor husband! So he begged and asked if we could please open our presents before Christmas. He came up with alot of reasons why we should and I loved seeing how anxious he was that I finally gave in! Haha We opened our presents from each other on December 23. It was fun to be able to open our gifts from each other on a night where we could just relax and take our time. It was a good idea on his part!

Trevor was so anxious to get started

We sure got spoiled by each other
On Christmas Day Trevor and I were able to spend the entire day with family. It really was a fun day, one that we would never change! I was particuraly excited for Christmas because I had planned the best suprise for Trevor. One that I knew he would not see coming at all! When we went to his parents house on Christmas, Trevor got his big suprise. I had stashed his suprise present there!

Trevor opening his suprise gift

That look on his face was priceless
Trevor had been begging for an x-box since the day that we got married. I was very concerned about getting him one because I was scared it would take my husband away from me. Haha But I finally gave him, and am so glad I did because of how excited he was. And so far the x-box has not taken my husband away from me!

We had a great Christmas and were so excited to be able to spend the day together and with our great families! We are already anticipating our next Christmas.

Christmas Eve

Wow it has taken me awhile to update our blog on all of the fun we had over the holidays. After Christmas was over, we both jumped right back into school and work. We have been so busy, with alot of things going on.
On Christmas Eve Trevor and I spent the night with some of my family. We all went to a movie, got dinner, and then went back to my dads house for some games and talking. We love it when we get to spend time with family. Last year my family started a tradition with a fun game we all like to play. Its called 'Horse Races' and we all love it. One reason I think we all love it so much is because we are all so competitive with one another. The champ from last year is my brother Cade, and he was bragging it up all night stating that he would be the champ this year as well. Well the races began and Trevor, Cade, and myself all were doing pretty good. I am not very good at this game, but I am still pretty competitive!

Trevor competing in one of his races
After all the races were said and done I somehow made it to the final race!! It was me against my brother Cade, the raining champ. Haha I was pretty nervous when it came time for the race because I knew how competitive he would be with it!!

Right before the race began
As you can see with the look on my brothers face he was ready for this race, and knew he was going to win! Little did my brother know, my competitive self came out in this race and..... I won fair and sqaure!! I was so excited that I had won, and everyone in the room was shocked that I beat Cade. It was probably the best victory I have felt! Haha

Cade realizing that he lost the race

With my winning piece and horse trophy!
Trevor and I had such a blast on Christmas Eve and was so sad when it quickly came to an end! We can't wait for next year and all the fun we know we will have again.

Christmas Traditions

I think one of the best things about the holiday season is family traditions. I look forward to all of traditions every single year. One of the greatest things about being married is gaining a whole bunch of new family traditions. Trevors family has alot of fun family traditions, especially around the holidays, that we both look forward to every year.

One of the traditions that Trevors family does is frosting sugar cookies around Christmas time. On Sunday we all got together at Trevors parents house had dinner, frosted sugar cookies, and watched a movie. It sure was fun and I loved watching my adorable husband act like a little kid again!

Trevor started out frosting cookies really well. His cookies looked normal and actually really good.

How Trevor started out
However, after a couple of cookies Trevor quickly lost interst in frosting cookies and started making the most insane characters and other such things. Treovr made a Patrick cookie, a gingerbread man wearing a tux, and other such things as that.

Trevors Patrick cookies

We had such a fun time frosting sugar cookies and cannot wait for this weeked and all the fun festivities that we have planned for the Christmas weekend. Its going to be a blast thats for sure!

Our Favorite Time of the Year

I can't wait for Christmas to get here!! This is by far our favorite time of the year!! Everything about this holiday season is just the best! I love that everywhere you go it feels like Christmas time. I also love putting up all of our Christmas decorations in our home and bring the holiday spirit into our home! Christmas is will be here soon. I only wish that Christmas were tomorrow! There are so many many things I am excited for.

Trevor and I one Saturday night put up our Christmas tree and all the decorations throughout our home. I am so happy that Trevor is willing to help me put everything up and carry everything that is too heavy for me. Haha We had fun putting everything up together!

Our stockings all hung by chimney

Our Christmas tree all decorated and presents all wrapped
I will be so sad when I have to put away all of our Christmas decorations! We are enjoying the holiday season as we know it will soon be over! We hope you all enjoy your holiday season as well!

Thanksgiving Day

Me and Trevor had a really good Thanksgiving!! We love the holidays and everything that comes with them. We also love being able to spend the entire day together without school or work getting in the way. We started off the day by eating lunch at my moms house, with all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins.  I love spending time with my family and all the fun we have together. Its always such a blast!

Later that afternoon we went to Trevors parents house to eat dinner with his entire family. It was all such good food. We for sure did not go hungry one single bit the entire day! After we ate dinner a bunch of us started playing Michael Jackson dancing on the Xbox Kinect. I love this game and watching everyone dance to it. I especially love watching Trevor play it. Let me be the first to state that my dear wonderful husband tries so hard at these types of dancing games...  BUT he has zero rhythm!! I don't think these pictures do his non-dancing skills justice.

I love his face in this picture!! I love this boy!

Bustin it to Michael Jackson

I always have to give him a hard time about it, but I love that even though he knows he has no rhythm he is still up to dancing with everyone and being right in the middle of all the fun. We love being able to spend our days with family and all of the fun we always have!

Trevor with Megan & Michael
I love Thanksgiving and being able to reflect on all of the things I am thankful for. I am thankful for my wonderful husband and all the fun times that we have together! I am thankful for both of our families! I am thankful for the gospel and that me and Trevor get to be together for eternity!

I love the holidays and can't beleive they are already half over. We are trying to enjoy every single minute of them as we know they go by oh so quickly.

Pumpkin Carving

Sunday night Trevor and I went over to his parents house to carve pumpkins with everyone. I have not carved pumpkins for a very very long time, and know from experience that I am not good at all! Also from seeing pictures I could tell that Trevors family was very very good at carving pumpkins. So needless to say I was a little nervous going over. However, I had a blast being with them, laughing, and carving pumpkins. I hope it's a tradition that we continue to keep doing.

Mine and Trevors pumpkins started out looking like this...

But after much hard work and lots and lots of carving, they ended up looking like this...

Mine (Creepy w/ Bats) & Trevors (Spongebob)
I thought they turned out really well. This is by far the best pumpkin I have ever carved in my life. I had a little problem with the "e" but Trevor came to the rescue and fixed it! We had a blast on Sunday being with Trevors family. It was something we both really needed. A day just having fun with each other, no school or work. We both love these kinds of days!!
