Christmas Traditions

I think one of the best things about the holiday season is family traditions. I look forward to all of traditions every single year. One of the greatest things about being married is gaining a whole bunch of new family traditions. Trevors family has alot of fun family traditions, especially around the holidays, that we both look forward to every year.

One of the traditions that Trevors family does is frosting sugar cookies around Christmas time. On Sunday we all got together at Trevors parents house had dinner, frosted sugar cookies, and watched a movie. It sure was fun and I loved watching my adorable husband act like a little kid again!

Trevor started out frosting cookies really well. His cookies looked normal and actually really good.

How Trevor started out
However, after a couple of cookies Trevor quickly lost interst in frosting cookies and started making the most insane characters and other such things. Treovr made a Patrick cookie, a gingerbread man wearing a tux, and other such things as that.

We had such a fun time frosting sugar cookies and cannot wait for this weeked and all the fun festivities that we have planned for the Christmas weekend. Its going to be a blast thats for sure!

Our Favorite Time of the Year

I can't wait for Christmas to get here!! This is by far our favorite time of the year!! Everything about this holiday season is just the best! I love that everywhere you go it feels like Christmas time. I also love putting up all of our Christmas decorations in our home and bring the holiday spirit into our home! Christmas is will be here soon. I only wish that Christmas were tomorrow! There are so many many things I am excited for.

Trevor and I one Saturday night put up our Christmas tree and all the decorations throughout our home. I am so happy that Trevor is willing to help me put everything up and carry everything that is too heavy for me. Haha We had fun putting everything up together!

Our stockings all hung by chimney

Our Christmas tree all decorated and presents all wrapped
I will be so sad when I have to put away all of our Christmas decorations! We are enjoying the holiday season as we know it will soon be over! We hope you all enjoy your holiday season as well!

Thanksgiving Day

Me and Trevor had a really good Thanksgiving!! We love the holidays and everything that comes with them. We also love being able to spend the entire day together without school or work getting in the way. We started off the day by eating lunch at my moms house, with all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins.  I love spending time with my family and all the fun we have together. Its always such a blast!

Later that afternoon we went to Trevors parents house to eat dinner with his entire family. It was all such good food. We for sure did not go hungry one single bit the entire day! After we ate dinner a bunch of us started playing Michael Jackson dancing on the Xbox Kinect. I love this game and watching everyone dance to it. I especially love watching Trevor play it. Let me be the first to state that my dear wonderful husband tries so hard at these types of dancing games...  BUT he has zero rhythm!! I don't think these pictures do his non-dancing skills justice.

I love his face in this picture!! I love this boy!

Bustin it to Michael Jackson

I always have to give him a hard time about it, but I love that even though he knows he has no rhythm he is still up to dancing with everyone and being right in the middle of all the fun. We love being able to spend our days with family and all of the fun we always have!

Trevor with Megan & Michael
I love Thanksgiving and being able to reflect on all of the things I am thankful for. I am thankful for my wonderful husband and all the fun times that we have together! I am thankful for both of our families! I am thankful for the gospel and that me and Trevor get to be together for eternity!

I love the holidays and can't beleive they are already half over. We are trying to enjoy every single minute of them as we know they go by oh so quickly.

Pumpkin Carving

Sunday night Trevor and I went over to his parents house to carve pumpkins with everyone. I have not carved pumpkins for a very very long time, and know from experience that I am not good at all! Also from seeing pictures I could tell that Trevors family was very very good at carving pumpkins. So needless to say I was a little nervous going over. However, I had a blast being with them, laughing, and carving pumpkins. I hope it's a tradition that we continue to keep doing.

Michael, Megan, and Trevors Mom carving their pumpkins

Mine and Trevors pumpkins started out looking like this...

But after much hard work and lots and lots of carving, they ended up looking like this...

Mine (Creepy w/ Bats) & Trevors (Spongebob)
I thought they turned out really well. This is by far the best pumpkin I have ever carved in my life. I had a little problem with the "e" but Trevor came to the rescue and fixed it! We had a blast on Sunday being with Trevors family. It was something we both really needed. A day just having fun with each other, no school or work. We both love these kinds of days!!

Our New Home

Goodbye to our old home...

and hello to our new home!! Trevor and I are loving our new house and could not be any happier! We finally got all moved in and are settling into everything. We also had to purchase a new couch, since our old couches would not fit in our house, and we love our new couch. Here are a few picture of our new home. (Don't mind the empty walls and lack of decorations, that is one thing that will forever be a work in progress).

This is Trevors office, so we will see how he decorates it.

Our washer/dryer and bathroom

My favorite part of the house, the kitchen

This is our new couch that we love so much

We have one more room in our house that will be my craft room. But because I have not even started unpacking that room and putting things together I will have to post pictures of that room later.  However, it might not be for a long long time because its a huge work in progress. We love our new home and love how close it is to so many things, mainly Trevors work!!

Black Island Farms

Last Saturday me and Trevor went with his family to Black Island Farms. This is a fun family tradition that his family does. However, this was my first year going with them and I had a blast with them!! I enjoyed every single bit of it and also enjoyed watching all of the little kids run around and play on everything.

Trevor & Michael playing like little kids!

I sure love this boy and that smile of his!!

Another thing I was also amazed with was Trevors Grandpa, what an amazing man that guy is! We decided to go through the corn maze and I was a little nervous because I hate getting lost and not knowing where I am. Although they did provide us with a map, I found that to be the most difficult map to read in the entire world!! However, it was not for Trevor's grandpa. He navigated us through that entire corn maze and didn't even get lost one single time. He also did not hit one dead end or anything the entire time. I must say that I was completely amazed.

We also all went on a hay ride together to go and pick a pumpkin. I have never been a big fan of Halloween; however, if this is what it's all about I could learn to love it! Because I for sure had a blast going on the hay ride and choosing pumpkins.

Trevor and I on the hay ride
This is a fun tradition that Trevors family does and I hope they continue to do it and that me and Trevor keep going! I love spending time with family and being outside in the fabulous fall weather!!

Moving Day

Monday was moving day!! I must admit that I completely hate moving! I know that there are more moving days in mine and Trevors future, but for now I am happy where we are and do not want to move for a very long time!! Moving was alot more stressful than I ever imagined it would be. Alot of things went wrong, but in the end me and Trevor are very happy where we are now.

Our first home together

All our boxes and junk

We had such great family who came and helped us move. We had so much family there we were able to get everything over to our house in one load, which it what I was hoping for. Our new home is a basement apartment, but one that we love very much. Once we arrived at our new home the couches were the first thing to be taken in. This is the first thing that went wrong that day. After the boys tried for over 45 minutes to get our couch down in the basement the came to the conclusion that it was not fitting. I wish I would of taken a picture of them trying to fit it down there, however I was too stressed out at the moment. They were able to get our love seat down there, however my couch now resides here...

Yes that leather couch is mine and it now resides in the garage. I am still sad that my new couches will not fit in our new home. So now me and Trevor are left deciding what we want to do. If it up to Trevor we will be purchasing new couches. So we will see what we end up deciding to do.

It was a very long day with alot of lifting and unpacking. Our house was a mess for a long time and were up very late the entire week.

What it looked like after alot of unpacking, yes it looked worse at one point...

Our bedroom was the first thing to clean up
It was a very long and stressful week. However, things are finally all put away and in their places. I need to take some pictures of our new home and post them. That will be put on my to-do list. We love our new home and know that we will be very happy here together!

Our Anniversary

Last Saturday was mine and Trevors 1st Anniversary and what an amazing day it was! It was my turn to plan our anniversary this year and I had alot of fun planning it. I pretty much took Trevor on a Jungle Safari, with clues and a gift to go with each activity I had planned. We both loved every single second of it and were so sad when it was over.

Saturday morning my little brother went through the temple in preparation for his mission! He went through the Bountiful temple and what a special and exciting experience it was. It was even more special for me and Trevor because we were able to go back to the temple we were married in, exactly one year later. It was a special experience to be driving up to the Bountiful temple at the exact same time we did the year before. Also the weather was exactly the same as it was on our wedding day! I was so happy and we both loved every single second of it!

I love my little brother!

Everyone who came to support Cade

I am so proud of Cade and his decision to go on a mission and through the temple. It was an amazing experience and one that I was so happy to be apart of!

After going through the temple me and Trevor were able to spend the rest of day together! Being able to spend an entire day together it something we both love and look forward to because it does not happen very often right now. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then spent the night at the Little America Hotel. It was very very sweet! We stayed on the 15th floor which was a little scary for me to look over the edge of our balcony! But it was an awesome day to be able to spend together.

The view from our balcony
I love Trevor more than anything! He is my best friend and there is no one else who understands me the way that he does! I was so happy to be able to spend the day with him and I know we both enjoyed the break from work and school. I can't wait for next year to see what he has in store for us!! I love you baby!

Taylor Swift Concert

Last Wednesday night me, Trevor, and his little brother and sister Michael and Megan all went to the Taylor Swift concert together.  We all got these tickets clear back in April and have been anxiously waiting for September to come.  We were all so excited for the concert and were ecstatic the day the concert finally arrived!

On our way to the concert

It was pretty empty when we first arrived...

But if filled up rather quickly!

Megan and Michael

Us at the concert

The concert was amazing and we all loved it! When and if she comes back, we for sure will be going again. Taylor Swift definently knows how to put on a good show for her fans, and I am proud to say that I am definently a fan of hers! I also loved that I was able to spend the night with Trevor and my brother and sister- in law. It was also a much needed night away from work and homework.
